4 out of 5 stars A great portable version of a classic shred em' up   December 27, 2008

My wife bought me this and a DS for Christmas (hey I'm a big kid!) and I have hardly put it down! br /The "guitar" add on hardware takes a little time to get used to which is why I have given this only 4 stars, it can give your hand a cramp if used too long, so take breaks people! br / br /I could not believe the amount and the quality of the songs put into one small cartridge! br /Although sound quality is a lot better when listening via headphones. br / br /Apart from the standard career and quick play settings you have a Guitar Duel setting where you can play through all the songs against either the DS or somebody else who also has the game on their DS, which is a barrel of laughs! br /There are also the usual unlockables throughout the game but unlocking all costumes/guitars will really test your skills and patience (painful!) as the hard and expert modes are deadly! br / br /But to conclude, if you love Guitar hero but want something a little more portable and love old (and new) rock music then this is right up your preverbial alley!! br / br / br / br / br /

5 out of 5 stars More finger cramp inducing fun for young and old!   November 15, 2008

Following on from the marvelous Guitar Hero On Tour, the second in the DS franchise - 'Decades' is here at last. br /Gameplay is the same as the first game, using your guitar pick to shred your way around the globe. This time though, the songs are much better: br /"All Right Now" Free br /"Any Way You Want It" Journey br /"Are You Gonna Go My Way" Lenny Kravitz br /"Buddy Holly" Weezer br /"Can't Stop" Red Hot Chili Peppers br /"Crushcrushcrush" Paramore br /"Down" Stone Temple Pilots br /"Everything is Everything" Phoenix br /"Eye of the Tiger" Survivor br /"Free Ride" Edgar Winter Group br /"I Believe in a Thing Called Love" The Darkness br /"La Bamba" Los Lobos br /"The Middle" Jimmy Eat World br /"No Rain" Blind Melon br /"One Step Closer" Linkin Park br /"The One I Love" R.E.M. br /"One Way or Another" Blondie br /"The Pretender" Foo Fighters br /"Ready, Set, Go!" Tokio Hotel br /"Rock and Roll Band" Boston br /"Satch Boogie" Joe Satriani br /"Smooth Criminal" Alien Ant Farm br /"Some Might Say" Oasis br /"Sweet Home Alabama" (Live) Lynyrd Skynyrd br /"Tarantula" The Smashing Pumpkins br /"Take Over, The Break's Over" Fall Out Boy br /"We Are The Champions" Queen br /"You Give Love a Bad Name" Bon Jovi br / br /A veritable feast of shreddable classics here and, if you have played the previous game on the DS, you will know how much fun can be had (and, of course the resulting finger cramps you will get trying to master all these tracks). br / br /This time, all tracks are masters so great sound quality throughout and the track list will cater for all musical tastes (and hopefully give some of these bands a much deserved boost in sales). br / br /For those of you new to the franchise, you have to own the bundle to be able to play the game, but it is definitely worth it and is great fun for young and old. The finger cramps are worth it, I promise you!
