5 out of 5 stars A Well Deserved 5 Stars   January 1, 2009

Right Now br /I almost cancelled my order for this CD. Two good singles yes, but with the very public lack of support from Simon Cowell from the very beginning I doubted that he'd have given Leon the backing necessary to make the br /album that he deserved. Luckily for me I left it too late to cancel it! br / br /This album is excellent and leaves the much hyped, highly successful but ultimately dissapointing, debut album by Leona Lewis in the shade. If only Leon had been given a fraction of the promotional support that Leona enjoyed, his had, and still has, the potential to win an army of fans all over the world. If not already a fan, don't let Leon's age lead you to pre-judge his music. Listen to this album and you'll find it appeals to all ages and deserves to get serious airtime on Radio 1 and 2 and the FM and 'grown up' variations of every major radio station in the UK. br / br /'Don't call this love' was a good choice of first single, 'Creative' is a great song that has a latin tempo. Now if only Leon did a Spanish version he'd take those parts of the world by storm! 'Stargazing' is a fantastic song well sung. This should be the next single and with the push it deserves it could be huge. 'All in good time' and 'Right Now' sound like 'crooner' classics. The arrangements are BIG and Leon delivers. "You don't know me' and track 8,'A Song For You', are the inevitable tributes to previous interpretations of these songs by his idol Michael Buble. 'Ordinary Days' slots in between these two. It was written for him by John Reid, the man previously associated with Elton John; could have been sung by Sinatra and is, for me, another classic. 'Fingerprints', a potential hit single, is a quality song. Although not as strong as 'Stargazing', it's very catchy. The final two tracks are 'Misty Blue', which is good but not great, and his version of 'Caledonia', which is another with a big string arrangement and very good. The bonus track, the No. 1 hit 'When You Believe', needs no comment. br /Mr Cowell, do yourself a favour and give Leon the push he deserves. You've allowed him to make a great album of fabulous, mature, music and with support he can be a major artist selling millions of albums for decades to come. br /

5 out of 5 stars Life changing   December 28, 2008

There can be miracles when you believe...and i beleive this is one of the greatest, well crafted, beautiful albums of the year, possibly the decade. Having heard(and loved) only 1 song i decided to give little Leon a chance and bought the album. How grateful i am, if i had not bought it i would never have experienced such treasures as 'All in good time' 'Fragments' , both of which helped me through some difficult times. Having recently left a local cult in which listening to music of any kind, let alone talent show winners, was forbidden i needed a life affirming, upbeat album and Leon delivered by the bucketload. br /Don't call this love....Call it a love affair with the new greatest Jackson.

My friends daughter has this album and I was very shocked to find out who it was as the songs are amazing. From Dont call this love onwards the album is a really welcome surprise and my favourite is You dont know me which made me shed a few tears. I saw him switch on the lights in Manchester and he did " When you believe "and me and my friend Tony Harris were at the front and Leon shook are hands and from then on we have followed him around the countryand have had the honour of meeting his mum who is lovely and had a cup of tea with her at the town hall that night. This album is a benchmark and he is going to be a really big star and if he makes it in America like Leona that there is no stopping the Jackson train....all aboard..........I think so

Echo everything said already by other reviewers, except one who didn't rate Leon's version of the Carpenters' classic "Song for You". Don't know who did this arrangement, but Leon sings it beautifully. Had a tear in my eye at the end! br / br /Really good mix of modern and big band arrangements sung by a young man with a beautiful tone to his voice. Hopefully he can only get better and better. Looking forward to the next album already.

5 out of 5 stars 'Right Now' Is An Oustanding Achievement   December 22, 2008

Leon Jackson practiced singing Michael Buble songs, after his mother gave him an i-pod for a Christmas present in 2006.. Well done Mum!.. In 2007 Leon's friends entered him in a Karaoke competition, which he won.. Leon decided to audition for the X-Factor, and the rest as they say is history.. I first heard Leon Jackson's voice on the X-Factor.. At his audition, Leon chose to sing 'Home' by Michael Buble.. There is a clip of this audition on You Tube.. I urge you to go and see it.. It is the best little movie ever made.. Leon became 'my' winner from that moment.. Leon was picked by all the judges, and he eventually won a place on the 'Live' shows.. It was an incredible achievement for someone who only started singing that year! My two favourite songs by Leon in the series, were 'Home' and 'You Don't Know Me'.. They can also be found on You Tube.. In the final, Leon sang 'White Christmas', a duet with Kylie Minogoe ''Better The Devil You Know' and 'You Don't Know Me'.. Leon went on to win the X-Factor and his song, 'When You Believe' became #1 in the United Kingdom.. Leon has also sang 'Home' with Michael Buble at Wembley Arena, and at Glasgow SECC they sang 'Lost' together. both duets are on You Tube.. Leon Jackson's album 'Right Now' is simply breathtaking.. a breath of fresh air.. every track has a brilliant production.. the cover songs have been chosen with care, and all the new songs have 'hit' single stamped all over them.. Leon is a wonderful storyteller.. My favourite songs on the album were 'Don't Call This Love' 'Creative', 'Stargazing', 'All In Good Time', 'Right Now', 'You Don't Know Me', 'Ordinary Days' 'A Song For You', 'Fingerprints', 'Could Do Better', 'Misty Blue', 'Caledonia' and 'When You Believe'.. that's right, I loved every song.. It is an oustanding achievement, and Leon is a wonderful singer.. Leon has come a long way since he first auditioned for the X-Factor.. When you buy this album you will not be disappointed.. You will also be supporting a natural talent and helping Leon to achieve his ambition of a career in the music industry.. It is my firm belief that Leon Jackson can become one of the all time great singers.. 10/10
