This is a great dvd, I love it, It is great for all, allthough some of the moves are a little bit tricky to start after a couple of times you get the hang of it and its great fun!

3 out of 5 stars Not for Beginners !   September 9, 2008

I bought this DVD to use in between gym workouts; I have been going to the gym three or four times a week for the past five months now and consider myself to be quite fit but this DVD was still really hard! Some of the moves are OK though hard to pick up; I had to rewind a couple of times to get the moves right. I felt that the squats were especially hard for people that are in any way, shape or form unlike the dancers in the video! For the squats you lower yourself down as far as you can go and then she tells you to squeeze which basically means pump your pelvis from back to front whilst holding your tummy in as tight as you can; I don't think this needs any more explaining as it sounds painful but trust me it feels worse! Overall, a great DVD if you are really physically fit but not so much for beginner. And also I find the main dancer (the one who talks instructs you) really irritating !

5 out of 5 stars perfect!   September 5, 2008

This is the first fitness DVD I have ever bought, and I was very pleased with it. Even if your not a good or confident dancer (like me) the steps are pretty easy to pick up after the first go, the high energy section is not as scary as it sounds, and it continues nicely from the warm up and the first dance section. The cool down is also very helpful, and took me from feeling like death to feeling calm and chilled out. I'd recommend this DVD to anyone who wants to get fit to some good tunes. You may feel like death after the first few go's but it's definitely worth it!

2 out of 5 stars Not very professional   September 1, 2008

I am a qualified fitness instructor and I purchased this DVD to get some new ideas for choreography and routines rather than for general fitness purposes.Overall I think this is quite a poor dvd to release to the general public. There are barely any safety tips throughout the routine and there is no sequence to most of the routine. The instructor doesn't queue in or countdown any moves, she just launches from one to another. There are no low impact moves demonstrated either. The music is quite good and whereas the choreography is basic it is badly put together.

2 out of 5 stars Not very effective workout   August 26, 2008

When my gym membership ran out a few months ago I needed to find a cheaper alternative. I love dancing so this seemed perfect for me. Unfortunatley I did not feel that it did much for my fitness at all. Some of the moves feel unecessarily uncomfortable and I found myself doing alternative steps while these were presented. I find some of it tough on the knee joints. Doing it on hard wooden floors is different to doing it on the proper sprung dance floors they use in the DVD. br /You really have to over emphasise every move during the salsa dance section to feel any effects from it. The toning section is too short and not very intense. br /The Ministry of Sound's Pump it Up, Burn it, Lose it DVD is a lot better. It isn't as cheesy and has a good boxing section which is great for bingo wings! Diane Berry does a much better job presenting this one also.
